A man who spiked sweets with sleeping medication and distributed them to children at a youth camp in the region has pleaded guilty to sexual crimes against two young males aged nine and ten years old.
Jon Ruben was detained after eight minors and a grown-up became sick at the location in mid-summer.
The 76-year-old, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a multiple criminal counts when he stood at the courthouse on recently.
However, he disputed one particular crime he was accused of, which was concerning a nine-year-old child.

'Sweet game'
The legal representative, handling the case, detailed the defendant's actions to the legal proceedings.
She explained his those affected were under-privileged children who were staying at a youth camp which he managed.
Ruben conducted a "sweet game" with the minors, the prosecutor said, in which he would enter the boys' rooms when they were getting ready for bed and request they to eat sweets "rapidly".
She stated to the judge Ruben had engaged in this activity with the boys "over an extended period", and youngsters had previously become sick the following morning.
She stated Ruben had been capable of justifying this for many years as the minors being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his family member had suspicions in July 2025.
The legal representative continued: "In the summer" his family member had concerns about the situation, justifiably.
"They decided to examine in the individual's items."
The prosecutor said materials including lubricant, Vaseline and medical needles were found, and his family member notified the authorities about his suspicions.
She said the defendant continued to engage in the "candy game" with six boys that time - July 26th - and they were all ill the following morning.
"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that point," she stated further.
The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, previously told that it was investigating the police response of the incident.
Mrs Prior explained the youngsters were unable to walk properly due to their condition, so the stepson called the law enforcement a second time.
She said the man then conducted the "sweet game" in a room of five minors.
